Participation in Sports Betting and Youth Welfare Nexus

This paper seeks to establish the nexus between sports betting participation and youth welfare in Kenya. The focus of study is based Kajiado North constituency which has highest population within Nairobi metropolitan statistical area. There are 9 universities around region. sample size 341. Endogenous switching regression estimation adopted determine association welfare. From analysis, this obtains a significant negative coefficient -1.4971 relating suggests that negatively affects youths' overall 1.49 percent greater manner than those who abstain from it. It important address factors lead participate betting, particularly control commercials by making it mandatory they issue disclaimers doing so may worsen one's also essential properly educate young people on financial management order channel their money toward worthwhile endeavors rather betting.
